A Personal Update {It’s about time!}

Posted on October 2, 2011

I seriously can’t believe the last time I posted about myself and my family, my baby boy looked like this:

5 months later, my little chubba lub looks like this!

So much has happened in the last 5 months of this little guy joining our family.  Mostly for the better!

Braddock had a rough start at birth, and again at 6 weeks we were back in the hospital for 3 very long days.  He ended up catching Rotavirus. Which they didn’t figure out until day 3.  He had horribly bloody stools and would not eat.  I have NEVER been so scared in my entire life.  He was lethargic and not very responsive.  He was sent via ambulance from one hospital to a specialty hospital.  There after tests, and lots of blood work, and even a spinal tap it seemed we were never going to figure out what was wrong.  I don’t think I ever stopped praying while there.  But by some miracle, the doctor change we had on day 3 was our answer.  He felt the need to test him one more time, for this specific virus.  And sure enough!

Taking him home that night was the best feeling.

I’m happy to say that since then he has been completely healthy and happy!

We spent the rest of our summer moving from our little 2 bedroom apartment into a real home! Not our home, but one we are renting.  But HOME has earned a whole new meaning to us now.  2 floors with plenty of space for the 6 of us.  A fenced in yard that has been a huge blessing! I seriously have no clue how I handled 5 years in an apartment with 3 kids!

With a husband working 2 jobs,  the house has been my sole responsibility (which my OCDness LOVES!) so it definitely engulfed the rest of my summer :)   That is part of why my blog posts are sometimes super behind!  I am loving creating my own spaces though!

Check out my office!

Before- ewwww

After- YAY!

My Main Bathroom

Guess my boys room will be a post another day.  I thought I’d taken pics but nope! Oops :)

I celebrated my 30th Birthday! Woohoo!!! I seriously am SO excited for my 30′s. I’ve been looking forward to them for the last few years.  I think my 30′s will be my favorite decade!

Moving on to All My Children, ha ha – not the soap opera!  This is actually what I was going to blog Back to school photo shoot.  Anyone else dread school pictures? I do!!! So we always do our own. I highly recommend this to everyone.

I ventured out all by loneseome with all 4 kids in tow.  We headed to Wheeler Farm in Murray and headed to the backside where I knew there would be a lot less traffic.  I just let my kids roam free while I shot.  And in all honesty, it turned out to be my best shoot ever of my kiddos together! So sit back and enjoy!

How lucky am I? 4 Beautiful babes!

Just had to give a little shout out to my Father in law, and his fiancee .

I am excited to travel to Idaho next month to document their special day!

Just a few favorites from their engagement session.

Love you guys!

I’m not sure if it’s those adorable lips or his deep blue eyes that melt me the most!  Or maybe it’s because he is my nephew ;)   Who happens to just be 2 days older than my baby Braddock.  Little Luke here is a doll! We went up to Logan in June for his blessing so I stole him for a quick mini session.  He hammed it up of course! I wish I’d nabbed a picture of him with his four, yes FOUR older brothers.  They all look so alike it’s uncanny!  Beautiful boys with blonde hair and big blue eyes.

Now, back to this adorable baby boy!

I LOVE his little expressions! It’s almost as if he’s saying “you want me to what? Get real woman!” ha ha haaa

An adorable boy and an adorable cowboy room!

I feel so completely THRILLED! that I was chosen to come take part in the Lime Ricki Swimwear party!

In case you have never heard of Lime Ricki- they freaking ROCK! Seriously!  Womens, Mens and little girls swimwear that is modest, well made, durable, colorful and totally stylish!

Check out their website here:

http://www.limericki.com/WOMEN?_oskwdid=5966357&_engineadid=7556223155

Three sisters,

by the names of Nicole Bruderer, Colette Callister and  Jennifer Anderson wanted to design modest suits for themselves and their daughters.  Realizing there were a lot of people out there who wanted the same thing they got to work.  From that, Lime Ricki was born!

For the first 3 years they sold the swimsuits out of their homes.  Until they opened their first store.

This Blog Party was to celebrate!  Bloggers came and chatted, and got to know these sisters.  They checked out the swimwear, and even got to take home a suit!

Now I would like to add for all you moms out there who are tired of swimsuits falling apart, or your girls bottoms getting shredded the first time they sit on cement, these swimsuits are SO well made.

My own girls have tested it out and the suits look as good as new!

What I have been up to

Posted on April 20, 2011

A little of this and a little of that,

But a whole lot of this:

We welcomed into the world our precious baby Braddock Dean

Born April 16th

7lbs 10 oz of pure sweetness

As of yesterday at 3 days old

After a scary start to his life with some breathing problems, he is now home and thriving. And we are all so happy and grateful he is here.

I suppose it’s because it is fast approaching 3am here, and my 35 weeks of pregnancy has caught up with me, that I have been inspired to make this session my next share.

I have had the privilege of knowing Kate and Will for several years now.  A couple full of talent and tenderness.  For the years I have known them they have always wanted children.   Like many couples, this did not come as they had hoped and tried for.  I sat and watched as they struggled.  I felt pangs of guilt as I was blessed with 2 more of my own as they fought to get even one.

I watched as they went into foster parenting and when things looked so great for adopting, it came crashing down. I wanted to cry for them.

Then I cheered  AND cried at the news spread of their own miraculous joy!  Could this really be happening? Indeed it was!

Kate and Will.  You are both so sweet and so beautiful.  Words cannot express to you, what my heart feels seeing you get that chance to be parents to your own beautiful little girl. So deserving you both are.

Kate you emanate every ounce of the word RADIANT

Some people just have that natural flow about them.  Annie was no exception.  This girl just emanates fierceness.

We started off our rainy October day inside the Joseph Smith Memorial Building downtown.   One thing I do LOVE about rainy days, the dramatic atmosphere and lighting. Absolute perfection!

How about this dress? I mean textures galore! So stunning you are Annie, really.

Dress is from Bridal Image in Bountiful, UT.

A touch of personality

We were having so much fun! Then the Groom came, and it was an all out super model session :)

As if I haven’t shown you enough, we headed out into the streets after the rain left us and we were graced with some beautiful sunshine!

Greg, you are such a handsome charm!

All this red could not have been more perfect! Did I mention her wedding colors were red, black and ivory? :) I love red!

Two of my favorite shots from the urban streets of Salt Lake….

There is nothing better than a day full of love, and capturing that love for the keeping!

A little while back I had the awesome chance to spend a cold (but not quite freezing) evening out with Spencer.  An awesome young man who is preparing to serve a mission.

He comes from the sweetest family, that I have had the privilege of knowing for the last few years.  His mom is a total sweetheart and funny to boot.   His dad is absolutely hilarious, and genuine too.  And Spencer is the perfect combination of it all. One of the most well rounded young men I have ever met.  He has already spent time over seas and has no fear of going to unknown lands.

I wish him the best of luck to where ever he is called to Serve. Though I have no doubt he will do awesome!

The Kunz Family {Utah Family Photographer}

Posted on January 10, 2011

This is just how behind I got with bed rest, this adorable family was shot back in October! I know! Better late than never on the blogging right? :)

An absolutely fun family for sure! We caught the last bit of beautiful sunshine weather before the Utah winter blues set in.  These adorable kids had me not only working up a sweat, but they had me laughing! You will see, so many shots that just show how much personality they have!

Meet Tyson and Michelle.

One of the most down to earth couples I have ever had the privilege of working with.

You may remember Michelle from the post here. The girl who braved swarms of millions of mosquitoes for her bridals. :)

On their beautiful, bright wedding day we braved the noon sun for a few quick shots,

before heading down to the Salt Lake City Capitol Building. If ever there were a place with the most stunning light, this would be it! Just flooding with skylight warmth. I could have shot there all day. It is absolutely dreamy.

And of course, the new Mr. & Mrs. can’t be left alone too long ;)

You two are absolutely, beautifully, fiercely, in love….

It was then off to the backyard reception! A very toasty 97 degrees day I might add!

Coolest idea ever! Yes, I know it’s not the first time it’s ever been done, but the photobooth was AWESOME! I seriously want one in my living room. Seriously.

Tyson and Michelle, you even make cake eating melt my heart…

No words are needed here. Just some of those most tender and beautiful moments.

The night ended beautifully. Tyson sang to his new bride…

Then it was dancing until way beyond dark…
