Jayme and I had an awesome afternoon/evening Bridal Session. Starting off inside the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and working our way down to the beautiful park under the shadow of the Capitol Building.

There really are no words needed here. Jayme, you are absolutely stunning.  You have a beautiful glow of happiness. I am so thrilled that I have had the chance to spend so much time with you!

I know right? I am so lucky that I get to photograph such gorgeous people!

Jayme and Brandon are a match made in heaven. One of those couples that just flows together. They have more than just their obvious great looks going for them.  Genuinely sweet and kind.  Laughter that is infectious, and smiles that go on for miles.

We got away from the cold outdoor weather and went inside the Salt Lake City Capitol building.  The dark overcast skies outside made shooting natural light a tad tricky but I could not be happier with the turn out!  We just bumped up that ISO and spent the afternoon playing and laughing and having an awesome time!

Jayme- you are such a natural beauty!

A little personal touch. Brandon proposed with handcuffs! So, how could we not include them? :)

I am so happy for these two. Not just for them, but for their new family they are starting together.  Both of them coming from marriages before, these two are each blessed with two beautiful children of their own.  Doubling their family, doubling their joy.  The kids are already best friends, you would never know seeing them interact that they were not all siblings already!

They make one big happy family {LOVE}

So of course we had to throw in a second mini session to get them all together!  Sleepy Ridge Golf Course provided a gorgeous setting!

I am so excited for your new journey! I can not wait to see where life takes you and your beautiful family!!!

What I have been up to

Posted on April 20, 2011

A little of this and a little of that,

But a whole lot of this:

We welcomed into the world our precious baby Braddock Dean

Born April 16th

7lbs 10 oz of pure sweetness

As of yesterday at 3 days old

After a scary start to his life with some breathing problems, he is now home and thriving. And we are all so happy and grateful he is here.

You may recognize this gorgeous couple from 2 posts ago :) We actually shot the groomals the day before the wedding!

Annie and Greg’s wedding day was no different, except this time there was no rain. Just beautiful sunny skies! A beautiful afternoon at the Salt Lake City Temple, then off to an outdoor reception filled with food, laughter and lots of love.

This is a massive picture posting. You’ve been warned! :)

My absolute FAV from the day. Annie you are stunning!

There is nothing more tender than the tear drops that fall as Daddy and Daughter dance…

And nothing more pure than the look of pure love as Husband and Wife dance their first dance…

I suppose it’s because it is fast approaching 3am here, and my 35 weeks of pregnancy has caught up with me, that I have been inspired to make this session my next share.

I have had the privilege of knowing Kate and Will for several years now.  A couple full of talent and tenderness.  For the years I have known them they have always wanted children.   Like many couples, this did not come as they had hoped and tried for.  I sat and watched as they struggled.  I felt pangs of guilt as I was blessed with 2 more of my own as they fought to get even one.

I watched as they went into foster parenting and when things looked so great for adopting, it came crashing down. I wanted to cry for them.

Then I cheered  AND cried at the news spread of their own miraculous joy!  Could this really be happening? Indeed it was!

Kate and Will.  You are both so sweet and so beautiful.  Words cannot express to you, what my heart feels seeing you get that chance to be parents to your own beautiful little girl. So deserving you both are.

Kate you emanate every ounce of the word RADIANT

Some people just have that natural flow about them.  Annie was no exception.  This girl just emanates fierceness.

We started off our rainy October day inside the Joseph Smith Memorial Building downtown.   One thing I do LOVE about rainy days, the dramatic atmosphere and lighting. Absolute perfection!

How about this dress? I mean textures galore! So stunning you are Annie, really.

Dress is from Bridal Image in Bountiful, UT.

A touch of personality

We were having so much fun! Then the Groom came, and it was an all out super model session :)

As if I haven’t shown you enough, we headed out into the streets after the rain left us and we were graced with some beautiful sunshine!

Greg, you are such a handsome charm!

All this red could not have been more perfect! Did I mention her wedding colors were red, black and ivory? :) I love red!

Two of my favorite shots from the urban streets of Salt Lake….

There is nothing better than a day full of love, and capturing that love for the keeping!

Has is seriously been almost 8 weeks?!

Posted on March 21, 2011

Oh my word where did the time go?! Last post I was 25 weeks checkin in.  Now I am almost 34 weeks!

Back in mid January after realizing we were only mid way through the bleak winters here, and having kids with a lot of sinus, throat and ear infections, we decided to have our 2 youngest get tubes in their ears (We’ve done this a total of 7x between the 3 kids in 6 yrs). Lillie our baby girl, also had her adenoids removed. This poor girl, I can’t even explain what she has been through this winter. It’s so sad.  So anywho, all in the same morning they both went in. A few of my favorite captures from the day:

My poor babies after :( It is always so hard for me to not be able to make everything ok right away! Not to mention how sad and pitiful they look.

Probably one of the funniest moments of the day, was after we’d gone home. Damon was having a hard time keeping things down and the poor guys disappeared for a bit. Found him like this….

Completely asleep!

Since that surgery day, D has been awesome. Rarely a cruddy nose even. Lils on the other hand, became so sick that very week. And it never stopped. Several antibiotics, Rosefin shots and nothing was working. Tried herbal, tried natural oils. Nothing worked to get her better. So last Friday after mommy crying from not being able to make her better, she had her tonsils out. :( Still on the mend from that. I am just praying this actually works for her!

So aside from that part of my crazy life, I have lots of awesome shoots to share with you all!

So stay tuned!

I’ve made it!

Posted on January 19, 2011

To 25 weeks that is :)

I’m so happy I had to share with all of you!

I am completely looking forward to these last 14 weeks. For the first time this entire pregnancy I feel like myself again, I feel decently healthy, and I feel like I can move! Yay! (We’ve had some pretty risky complications up until 23 weeks)

In an attempt to be so much better about this blog, I wanted you to get to know me a little more :) So I wanted to share the progress!

And if you didn’t know yet, we are expecting a boy! Braddock Dean. I am thrilled to even out the numbers in our home. 2 girls and 2 boys! And believe you me, the kids are soooo happy it’s a boy! In fact, my 4 yr old boy told me if it was a girl, he wanted to send it back :) Ah ha ha.

Hope you are all having a wonderful week!

A little while back I had the awesome chance to spend a cold (but not quite freezing) evening out with Spencer.  An awesome young man who is preparing to serve a mission.

He comes from the sweetest family, that I have had the privilege of knowing for the last few years.  His mom is a total sweetheart and funny to boot.   His dad is absolutely hilarious, and genuine too.  And Spencer is the perfect combination of it all. One of the most well rounded young men I have ever met.  He has already spent time over seas and has no fear of going to unknown lands.

I wish him the best of luck to where ever he is called to Serve. Though I have no doubt he will do awesome!

Cabin Fever?

Posted on January 12, 2011

I think the winter is really starting to weigh in.  And not just for me, but for the kids too.  Definitely testing my patience. Especially around 6pm when they should be starting to wind down for the evening. Instead, they become insanely hyper!

I need summer. I need heat, sunshine, lakes and hiking. *sigh*

Sadly, I have a feeling that is still so very far away.  Yesterday I went to Heber, UT. Where this time of year you would expect to see mounds of snow.  They didn’t have much more than I do at my home. Granted, it was literally 5 degrees there :) So they win for coldness!

(sad phone picture. I know)

I actually wish I had taken my camera.  When you break through the mountains into the valley it opens to this gorgeous meadow with a river running through it.  The trees were just dripping in frost and the river was billowing steam.  It was stunning. I am honestly contemplating a trip back when it’s freezing just to get some pictures.

I am betting on another two and half months of winter here. Maybe more.  So I have time to get back! And even more time to figure out how to escape this cabin fever.

So what do you do to escape the cabin fever?
