I don’t have any good excuses for how long I have been MIA.  I sorta put my business life on the back burner to focus on being a mom.  Which, ok I do think is a great excuse.  I had come to a point where I spent so much time doing my “job”, that I realized I was not being the mom I wanted to be.  So I took some time away and invested myself back into my family.

It has been amazing.  I have been able to truly enjoy and eat up those moments with my kids that I realize will be gone all too soon.  The hilarity that is my 3 year old.  The way she tells me her “one time” stories of things that happened 5 minutes ago.  My 6 year losing his first teeth, and the cool things he comes home from kindergarten so excited to tell me about.  My 7 yr olds first kiss from a boy- on her ear “gross!”, but he said it was an accident ;) hee hee.  My little 1 year old learning to walk, and shake his head “no”, and drop his bum the instant he hears a music beat.

Yes, being a mom is all that and so much more.

BUT, I have missed my job! I have done some things here and there.  I want to do SO much more!  So now that the kids are out of school in a week, and life seems pretty smooth, I am ready to jump back in the game!

I am going to share so much with you guys!  From sessions I’ve done over the last year, to some tutorials on how I work, to random things in my everday life.

My goal: to become an addicted blogger!

So, consider this your warning.  Be prepared to bookmark this blog, share this blog, spread the word and become addicted!

Summer is here and so is my mojo!

A Personal Update {It’s about time!}

Posted on October 2, 2011

I seriously can’t believe the last time I posted about myself and my family, my baby boy looked like this:

5 months later, my little chubba lub looks like this!

So much has happened in the last 5 months of this little guy joining our family.  Mostly for the better!

Braddock had a rough start at birth, and again at 6 weeks we were back in the hospital for 3 very long days.  He ended up catching Rotavirus. Which they didn’t figure out until day 3.  He had horribly bloody stools and would not eat.  I have NEVER been so scared in my entire life.  He was lethargic and not very responsive.  He was sent via ambulance from one hospital to a specialty hospital.  There after tests, and lots of blood work, and even a spinal tap it seemed we were never going to figure out what was wrong.  I don’t think I ever stopped praying while there.  But by some miracle, the doctor change we had on day 3 was our answer.  He felt the need to test him one more time, for this specific virus.  And sure enough!

Taking him home that night was the best feeling.

I’m happy to say that since then he has been completely healthy and happy!

We spent the rest of our summer moving from our little 2 bedroom apartment into a real home! Not our home, but one we are renting.  But HOME has earned a whole new meaning to us now.  2 floors with plenty of space for the 6 of us.  A fenced in yard that has been a huge blessing! I seriously have no clue how I handled 5 years in an apartment with 3 kids!

With a husband working 2 jobs,  the house has been my sole responsibility (which my OCDness LOVES!) so it definitely engulfed the rest of my summer :)   That is part of why my blog posts are sometimes super behind!  I am loving creating my own spaces though!

Check out my office!

Before- ewwww

After- YAY!

My Main Bathroom

Guess my boys room will be a post another day.  I thought I’d taken pics but nope! Oops :)

I celebrated my 30th Birthday! Woohoo!!! I seriously am SO excited for my 30′s. I’ve been looking forward to them for the last few years.  I think my 30′s will be my favorite decade!

Moving on to All My Children, ha ha – not the soap opera!  This is actually what I was going to blog Back to school photo shoot.  Anyone else dread school pictures? I do!!! So we always do our own. I highly recommend this to everyone.

I ventured out all by loneseome with all 4 kids in tow.  We headed to Wheeler Farm in Murray and headed to the backside where I knew there would be a lot less traffic.  I just let my kids roam free while I shot.  And in all honesty, it turned out to be my best shoot ever of my kiddos together! So sit back and enjoy!

How lucky am I? 4 Beautiful babes!

What I have been up to

Posted on April 20, 2011

A little of this and a little of that,

But a whole lot of this:

We welcomed into the world our precious baby Braddock Dean

Born April 16th

7lbs 10 oz of pure sweetness

As of yesterday at 3 days old

After a scary start to his life with some breathing problems, he is now home and thriving. And we are all so happy and grateful he is here.

Has is seriously been almost 8 weeks?!

Oh my word where did the time go?! Last post I was 25 weeks checkin in.  Now I am almost 34 weeks!

Back in mid January after realizing we were only mid way through the bleak winters here, and having kids with a lot of sinus, throat and ear infections, we decided to have our 2 youngest get tubes in their ears (We’ve done this a total of 7x between the 3 kids in 6 yrs). Lillie our baby girl, also had her adenoids removed. This poor girl, I can’t even explain what she has been through this winter. It’s so sad.  So anywho, all in the same morning they both went in. A few of my favorite captures from the day:

My poor babies after :( It is always so hard for me to not be able to make everything ok right away! Not to mention how sad and pitiful they look.

Probably one of the funniest moments of the day, was after we’d gone home. Damon was having a hard time keeping things down and the poor guys disappeared for a bit. Found him like this….

Completely asleep!

Since that surgery day, D has been awesome. Rarely a cruddy nose even. Lils on the other hand, became so sick that very week. And it never stopped. Several antibiotics, Rosefin shots and nothing was working. Tried herbal, tried natural oils. Nothing worked to get her better. So last Friday after mommy crying from not being able to make her better, she had her tonsils out. :( Still on the mend from that. I am just praying this actually works for her!

So aside from that part of my crazy life, I have lots of awesome shoots to share with you all!

So stay tuned!

I’ve made it!

To 25 weeks that is :)

I’m so happy I had to share with all of you!

I am completely looking forward to these last 14 weeks. For the first time this entire pregnancy I feel like myself again, I feel decently healthy, and I feel like I can move! Yay! (We’ve had some pretty risky complications up until 23 weeks)

In an attempt to be so much better about this blog, I wanted you to get to know me a little more :) So I wanted to share the progress!

And if you didn’t know yet, we are expecting a boy! Braddock Dean. I am thrilled to even out the numbers in our home. 2 girls and 2 boys! And believe you me, the kids are soooo happy it’s a boy! In fact, my 4 yr old boy told me if it was a girl, he wanted to send it back :) Ah ha ha.

Hope you are all having a wonderful week!

Cabin Fever?

Posted on January 12, 2011

I think the winter is really starting to weigh in.  And not just for me, but for the kids too.  Definitely testing my patience. Especially around 6pm when they should be starting to wind down for the evening. Instead, they become insanely hyper!

I need summer. I need heat, sunshine, lakes and hiking. *sigh*

Sadly, I have a feeling that is still so very far away.  Yesterday I went to Heber, UT. Where this time of year you would expect to see mounds of snow.  They didn’t have much more than I do at my home. Granted, it was literally 5 degrees there :) So they win for coldness!

(sad phone picture. I know)

I actually wish I had taken my camera.  When you break through the mountains into the valley it opens to this gorgeous meadow with a river running through it.  The trees were just dripping in frost and the river was billowing steam.  It was stunning. I am honestly contemplating a trip back when it’s freezing just to get some pictures.

I am betting on another two and half months of winter here. Maybe more.  So I have time to get back! And even more time to figure out how to escape this cabin fever.

So what do you do to escape the cabin fever?

Mmm…Thanksgiving Time & Pumkpin Muffins

Posted on November 17, 2010

I love this time of year! The trees in my backyard are almost barren, the river is dried up, the air has that crisp cool smell and feel. Thanksgiving is a week away and I can taste my moms juicy turkey, soft rolls and delicious stuffing. The smell of Pumkin Spice is flooding from every room in my home. I can’t help it, it makes me hungry! Maybe that’s because I am 4 months pregnant, or maybe it’s just because this time of year is all about food and family!

In honor of the holiday season I decided to kick it off with some whole wheat pumpkin muffins.

I know, made you drool didn’t I?
Here is the awesome recipe!

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

2 cups flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
4 tsp pumpkin spice
1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
2 cups milk
1/2 cup melted margarine
2 cups brown sugar
1-16oz can Pumpkin (1 1/2 cups)

Melt margarine and beat in eggs, milk and pumpkin. Stir in dry ingredients until moistened.

Spoon into muffin cups(full)
Bake 25 minutes

*I love to add things to this. Leftover over ripe Bananas, some cream cheese, applesauce etc.)*
If you make them let me know what you think!

I have so much to post about.

But my computer hates me and rarely works long enough for me to get it ready to post! (And yes I just started a sentence with “but”)

So much has been going on! Mostly in my life :) I had my wisdom teeth taken out thanks to 2 weeks of pain from an impacted one. My “baby” started kindergarten! Which is definitely exciting!  That’s just 2 things I know, and there is so much more.

To keep you satisfied from missing me :) Here are some pictures from the official first day for our Kindergartner! Our little Cherry is just growing up so fast!

And of course, the other 2 have to be in on the excitement!

Wild Beauty {Utah Photographer}

Posted on July 23, 2010

Some things in life are just so simple.  Just one look makes you at peace and takes you into another world where there is no stress, no financial worries, no lists of things to get done. No kids screaming and no mountains of laundry.

For me, that place is in the mountains. Fresh, clean air. Crisp with a gentle breeze. The sounds of running streams and rustling leaves.  Then there are the wild flowers…. Wild growing Columbine. A thing of beauty only found in one part of Alpine Loop. White on one side, then just a short drive down they become yellow.  Blooming for just a short while, if you miss it you have to wait until the following year.

Dear Columbine, you are a true beauty.

I know, I know! I have disappeared again! Bet you can’t guess why? Yep, computer issues. Again. Maybe it’s not so much the computer as it is me :)

It figures that I have a completely new computer built and the one thing we did NOT replace, the video card, fried out.  And big time too. LOL

But alas, we can rest easy now. It is all shiny and new!

So I have SO much to catch up on here now! So stay tuned for some awesome posts and stories!

But since I am running late this morning to my appointment,

I will leave you with this:
